Ethics in Fashion Photography

1.) In the computer they changed the model's eye size they made them bigger and lowered them down including with her eyebrows, and they made her neck longer and thinner. They also made her lips bigger and made her face thinner and changed her make up to different shade.

2.) I think it is not ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like this in a photo because this is what make other girls want to look as beautiful and perfect like the models they see in magazines and billboards.

3.) I think there is circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation because they could have changed more things or like a full body picture could of been worse too.

4.) I think like taking off markings on your face or changing things in the background is ok but changing your nose or eyes and things like that is wrong because that is not who you really are.

5.) The difference between fashion photography and photojournalism is that fashion pictures are fake pictures that have a lot of changes and make other people feel bad and not beautiful and photojournalism pictures inspires people and makes people feel good and proud about themselves.

6.) The relationship that each type of photography have to reality is that they both want to look the best and this affects the ethical practice of each by making them feel uncomfortable with themselves and go through eating disorders and making them go through depressions. These pictures makes them change in a bad way.

Negatives Evaluation

1.) By looking at my negatives i think only about two or three turned out well.

2.) About two photos would not turn out well because they look like they do not have enough light and they are not well focused but the rest are.

3.) I think the sixth picture the one where people are walking in the hallway would come out well because it looks very clear to see. It also looks that it is well focused and you can see that it has good amount of light.

4.) I think that the best technical aspect that is present in my best negative is focus because you can see everything good enough to tell and know what is in the picture.

5.) In my favorite negative i used advanced composition techniques, i used lines and the rules of thirds.

Phot Manipulation and Ethics

1.) The main thing this story is talking about that in Israel this year, it was simply portrait day for the new cabinet when image appeared in Yated Neeman, an ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper, someone had fooled with the image. Digital manipulation isn’t limited to the Middle East, and the April Fool’s Day theme continues.

2.) I think this type of photo is unethical or acceptable because some people might get offended with these kinds of pictures but sometimes other people might actually think it is funny. Everyone has different opinions.

I think that this picture is unethical because it says that they both never debated so they got a picture of each one of them and edited to put them together and they are side by side, this makes it seem like they really are debating when they are not.

I think this picture is not as bad as the others because they really didin't change much just added text and things like that because they wanted to make it more dramatic in a way.

Drug Cartels in Mexico

I think the same as Jeff Antebi, that Juarez is a very sad city to live in because you don't know what is waiting for you right around the corner. But whateve it is its going to be bad. The violence is to much. Juarez has turned into the most fatal and dangerous city in the world. It is very scary to know this and i would never like to go to that city, only because of the cartels. People that go over there to live or to visit should be careful and not go out much when they are over there and try to avoid the cartels and going to Juarez.

Quotes:
1.) "The cartels," he says, "own the night."
2.) "It's a very sad city to be in," he says.

These quotes to me are intresting because it tells you really how bad things are going over there and how people are scared and have to put up with it. It shows that you can't go out at night only if you want to get killed in pain. It also tells you that all that is happening and its all very sad. It is like the cartels are your boss and you have to listen to them or you and all your family are going to die.

My favorite photo in this video is the last one the one of the girl with a pink jacket with fur on it. It is  intresting to me because it shows the sadness she feels when one of her family members get killed. The photographer used simplicity on this picture because the photo is focusing only on her and the she is the one in the middle.

Post Shoot Reflection

1.) The challenges that i had to encounter while trying to get close, capture real moments, and capture action or emotion were that you have to take the picture at the right time. Sometimes it can be dangerous like from where your standing to take the picture or where you are taking the picture. But you just have to figure how your going to take the picture meaning the viewpoint, how you want it to come out and just be careful and take many pictures and see which one you like the best out of all of them.

2.) The technical aspect of photography i found myself thinking about the most was focus because if the camera isint focused correctly to take the picture, its more likely your picture is going to be a bad one or ruined. So to adjust the focus you have to move the lense around till you can see clear.

3.)I attempted to use at least one of the advanced composition technique by really going into what im taking a picture of and make sure that you can understand it. Also the rules nned to be in the picture.

4.) Next time i will try and shoot things that are more intresting and go more into the main thing im trying to focus on to get a better picture.
